Splenda Chat

Coming soon... a Splenda chatroom where you discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sucralose consumption with other Splenda users.

On 2 June 2006, we received this note from R.M. concerning their use of sucralose.
"Let me tell you about my problems. I switched to Splenda about six months ago.  I use it to sweeten my iced tea every day. I drink approximately six glasses of tea each day.

About three months ago, I started getting severe headaches along with very bad gas, bloating, and diarrhea. I have multiple health problems--diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity--so I didn't really think too much about the additional problems.

The past month, I have been having such severe headaches and migraines that it is affecting my homelife and my job. I had to take a week off work because I could not get rid of my migraine. One the advice of my primary care physician, I went to the emergency room to get intravenous medication to get rid of my migraine.

I still didn't connect the headaches with the Splenda until I read an article in For Women First Magazine. I then put the puzzle pieces together and realized that I must be allergic to Splenda. I am taking the advice in the article and cutting out Splenda for the next two weeks. Wish me luck!"

Thank you R.M. for sharing your story with our visitors.

If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities.
