| On 4 August 2006, we received this note from E.A.C. concerning their use of sucralose. |

| "Hello.
I did not know there were so many stories so close to mine. I too have bad reactions to Splenda. It took me over a month to figure out what was making me feel like my throat was drying out. My lips felt like all the moisture had been taken out of them. They looked flat and dry, not chapped. They were just dry. I would get huge headaches almost to the point of not being able to see. This wasn't me. I had never felt this way before. My face would look red and my arms would itch, but there was no rash. I would feel just out-of-it altogether. Drugged. My tongue would feel numb and so would my cheeks. I would make my husband pinch me to see if I could feel it. I finally figured out it was food and drinks with Splenda in them. I called my doctor who told me I wasn't the first case of this. He told me to stop eating and drinking things with Splenda in them immediately. This in a way saddens me because Splenda has a much better taste than other artificial sweeteners. So, now I drink tea withot sweeteners at all and the food I eat has just plain old sugar in it. Thank you for this site. I just found it and I am glad that I am not alone in this allergy." Thank you E.A.C. for sharing your story with our visitors. |
