| "Hi.
I am so glad that I finally found out what was happening to me. I have been experiencing swollen, oozing, and blistering lips. At times, they are a very deep red color. I have no other symptoms. I have no food allergies. I am quite healthy. I have never had herpes. I only had Splenda occasionally in soda, yogurt, or ice cream. I began my current job in May 2006. I began drinking 1-2 cups of tea a day with 1 packet of Splenda in each cup. In June, the lip swelling and redness began. I didn't mind that until the peeling and oozing started in July. Although I had changed nothing else in my diet, I thought I had developed some sort of food allergy. My doctor was no help. My research on the web has made me put two-and-two together. I would also mention that when I used Equal frequently, the skin on my face formed small white pimples. I thought Splenda was natural, so I never made any connections between the two sweeteners. After the condition of my lips subsided, I will limit my intake to small infrequent amounts of artificial sweeteners in the future." Thank you D.M. for sharing your story with our visitors. |

| If you have experienced any side effects, whether you are sure it is Splenda or not, be sure to speak with your physician and discuss all possibilities. . |
